Pelargonium
- A genus of flowering plants which includes about 280 species of perennials, succulents, and shrubs
- Commonly known as geraniums, pelargoniums, or storksbills
- Geranium is the botanical name and common name of a separate genus of related plants. Both genera belong to the family Geraniaceae
- Pelargonium are evergreen plants from tropical regions in the world with species in south Africa
- Can tolerate the heat but can’t tolerate the cold weather
- Some species are very popular garden plants, grown as houseplants and bedding plants
- They have a long flowering period and the flowers are mostly in purple, red, orange or white color
